Expanding to a second Terminal

Rather than extend the existing Terminal I have decided to take advantage of the Terminal Area Tool

I have now basically copied my first Terminal and created a second Terminal
(slightly smaller as there are now automated Check In and Passport options)

I have not been able to find much information or Tutorial
This person ran into the same issue, but it closed without a solution -
(How do I get rid of the warning: "Not fully connected to other terminals! Ensure there is a pathway between all terminals")

1 -
My first guess was to block out the Terminal building
However, none of the stands connected
So I removed that configuration

2 -
I then attempted including the stands
Success, now all the stands are connected
However, none of the Services are connected

3 -
I then simply attempted outlining the Service Area
Ensuring this overlapped included this in Terminal 1

4 -
The process was repeated for Terminal 2
However as you will see the Service Area does not line up squarely
The trick is to add chunks, again making sure they overlap

5 -
Terminal 1 is three chunks
Terminal 2 is four chunks

6 -
Now the problem!
How to get passengers between the Terminals?

I solved it this way:

(Level -2)

There should be always a path between the terminal zones. This can be a sidewalk or an underground path.

Passengers usually should arrive and depart from the correct public transit structures if those are correct covered by the terminal zone. But may due to building and zoneing, there are some at the wrong place now.
But for staff changes between the terminals, a path is always needed.

I agree, passengers should arrive / depart from the correct entry / exit point for each Terminal
However, if a flight needs to be rescheduled it could end up being swapped between Terminals, and then passengers would need to be able to also swap between Terminals
(I have not tested this yet as dealing with trapped passengers is a nightmare!)

I encountered the same problem / issue as outlined in the link
No matter what type of structure or method I used no passengers would transfer between Terminals

I had hoped to use escalators to the basement (Level -1), and then a rapid walkway

I then replaced with the lift / elevator
However, I have found only staff use this
This does prove it works though
It is just a shame it is the only method of doing so

You cannot swap the flight anymore as soon as it is on route and the first passengers arrive (4 hours before arrival)

I have been swapping a few flights and this was a concern

Agreed, provided the flight is then locked it cannot be rescheduled so this is no longer an issue

However, I did find about 60 stranded passengers
It took me about 20 minutes to herd them out of the Terminal
This route has now been closed off, set to staff only
