Multiple-idea thread

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to open up this thread by saying I’m passionately looking forward to AirportCEO and its grandious release! I’ve been working at an international airport for quite a while now, and am aware of many possible adds and changes that could be implented to improve this game’s simulation. In this thread I will seperate my ideas into categories. Also, I think it’s important for me to say I base my ideas solely on the shown content in the three gameplays published by Olof and Fredrik, and I’ve taken programming and coding diffeculties in consideration. With all of this being said, let’s get started!:

Zoning:

  1. VIP Terminal: Ever thought about adding celebrities and honorary passangers to your airport? The VIP Terminal will be a small hall, and will not be frequently used or staffed. VIP passangers will be brought by a limo through the restricted gate (where deliveries are brought in), and will be escorted by 2 police / secret agency organization cabs. The VIP passangers should not be checked security-wise, and will only pass directly to the plane gate through the ID-counter and gate.
  2. Information/Tourism/Service Stands: This idea speaks for itself; a number of counters with information personnel sitted. Each stand will provide the passangers with the requested service.
  • Information stands are an integral part of any airport, and provide passangers with information regarding flight schedule, transportation schedule, airport orientation and other services. Owned by the airport authority.
  • Tourism Agency stands will mostly be serving first-time tourists the information they need for a safe and pre-thought-of planning of their stay in your airport’s area. Will benefit the airport by paying their share to the airport and by renting a zone in your airport. Owned by contractual companies.
  • Service stands will provide asking passangers (for a set amount) a personal escort through the boarding process and disabled/elderly in-airport buggy. Owned by the airport authority.
  1. Police Airport Headquarters: shouldn’t really be in-depth with the amount of detail it’ll have. Should be mainly a closed (none-modifiable) station where interogated passangers are taken into for questioning, and where the only police-cab depot should be located at the airport. Airport security is a crucial factor nowadays, and especially when there’s always a chance one of the bags will contain prohibited items, or one of the passangers will be a hooligan and will not be allowed exit/entry.
  2. Customs: a small zone at the arrivals hall, which scans suspecious passangers and luggage for prohibited items, illegal smuggling and irregular baggage scanning machines for: medical equipment, skiing equipment, pets, oversized baggage etc. Could also be seperated between in-terminal customs and in-baggage zone customs.

Flight-Related:

  1. Transit/Layover possibility will be a very handy idea, and will increase the reputation of your airport. Transit passangers will go through their own security check, and then will be brought straight into the mutual boarding hall.
  2. Flight numbers should be, in my opinion, a bit more logical. If there are two flights of Maple (for example), which depart to the same location and at the same overall timeschedule, they should have relatively similar flight numbers: MP001 and MP002, for example.
  3. Pre-boarding: The pre-boarding procedure would help escorted passangers of any kind, VIP passangers and first-class passangers to board before the rest of the passangers. It also depends on the flight size - as bigger flights will be more likely to have more pre-boarding passangers.
  4. Seperation between low-cost, charter, regular, vip and ga flights, with different contracts and different airplane sizes included.

Airport Features:

  1. Pedestrian Treadmills for passangers in a hurry.
  2. In-airport Buggy pathway, seperated from pedestrian pathways and treadmills.
  3. Seperation between continental and inter-continental flights. Inter-continental flight passangers will also go through a new feature: Passport Control (not-ID check desk), in both departure and arrival.
  4. Security guards at the entrance and exit of the airport, walking around terminal halls, and also - Undercover Security guards.
  5. Customs and all the included details.
  6. Currency exchange stands and machines.
  7. Short-term parking and long-term parking for cars.
  8. Disabled passangers in wheels-chairs.
  9. Overnight charter/regular flights parking - parking zone, fees, aircrew coming out and in.
  10. Ads! airlines ads, airport ads, services ads, shop ads, etc.

So what do you guys think?
Any opinions are of course welcome, and I’d be even more happy to hear from our great devs, what do they think about my ideas.

Hi Mate welcome to the forum:

Check out this thread

https://forum.apoglabs.com/t/minor-details-make-your-tiny-suggestions-here/634/373

There are like 373 post on it with ideas.

All the above are great!

The thread has been a little quiet since the devs have said no new features before release.

Hey Stu!
I don’t find my ideas minor, and could really be game-changers if applicible, in my opinion. I wanted to make a seperated thread of all of my ideas, and I tend to overflow with ideas naturally.

Thanks for your feedback!

In that thread all your ideas have been raised before I thought you might like to read it as devs have commented a lot in that thread about their ideas on the ideas!

All still great ideas.

Hey kai welcome to the forums  all good ideas and i’m sure we’ll discuss them in a lot more depth later on. For now the developers are purely focused on getting the current game released.
Only after that will they look at new featurew.
Do read the other topics on this forum as you’ll find many ideas similar to yours that could propell rhis game forward
