More and more customers check in online.
This could be simply implemented in the game by having a percentage of passengers checking in before arriving at the airport.
Some passengers checked in online may want to check in baggage and can do that at a specially operated baggage drop desk. It could be the existing desks if they are connected to a baggage system with an extra restriction “Baggage Drop Only”.
If there are no baggage drop desks, these passengers need to use th eregular check-in desks.
Extension: Different Pricing
The percentage of how many customers check in online depends on the airline.
Airlines may pay for check-in services by amount of handled passenger, that is: they pay less, the more of their customers check in online.
The cost for the airport is also less for flight handling because they may assign smaller desks to that flight/airline.
