SUGGESTIONS: Aircraft Models

Il do my best and get the technical data for you @me123

I personally like Boeing more than Airbus, but that might be because I live in near Everett.

Most Airbuses are pretty similar and the A380, for the most part, is almost too big.

I think we need and will have a wide range of aircraft. At the start of
the game you will probably only have small planes (Cessnas, Dash 8s,
CRJs etc) and as the airport matures you’ll develop up to 737s, A320s
before getting widebodies like the 777 and A380.

I hope in sandbox mode I do not have to start with small planes  when I’m building this gigantic airport

I would love to see the Lockheed L-1011 ( Personal reasons  )

Top speed: 973 km/h
Range: 7,410 km
Weight: 110,000 kg
Wingspan: 47 m
Length: 54 m
Cruise speed: 890 km/h
Engine type: Rolls-Royce RB211

if they are going to add retired planes,
how about the DC 8
Range: 4,800 km
Top speed: 946 km/h
Weight: 86,180 kg
Length: 46 m
Engine type: Jet engine (couldn’t find exact engine)

I took a quick 20 minutes to make this list ready. Me, personally - I would LOVE to have all those different types in the A.CEO. I don’t think the workload to add all those types isn’t that big since esp in 2D you just “lengthen” or “shrink” the existing base graphic model and adjust the values of PAX, weights and their coded values of length, width etc.
They would add a great “longtime” value since it’s making the whole economy and construction very variable every airport you start again since you will face quite some “subsizes” which in the end add value like:

  • taxiway length for “waiting lines” must be accordingly longer/shorter
  • income through more PAX while not having to rebuild everything (since they could fit in the same existing box OR maybe not ;))
  • maintanance of runways should increase
  • runway length for a Boeing 737-700 is with basic load somewhat between 1.600-1.900m (T/O&L), normal Boeing 737-900 takes about 1.900 - 2.500m depending on TOW and LW
  • you also don’t look at like 7-8 different planes all day long… :frowning:

But here’s the list: (smallest ones are missing)

EDIT: Would have loved to make the actual list in smaller letters so it’s not taking sooo much space but I can’t. :frowning:

R = Shortrange/Regional, grass/gravel capable
S = Shortrange

You get the planes from contracts and you assign them times to land. So even when not in sandbox they won’t come until you call them

something else I’d like to see would be smaller general aviation airplanes come into your airport at random times just like real airports. Like when you start out maybe those are the only type of aircraft coming in, but then once you get a class C airport, you can still get them but just not as much as the regional and larger aircraft. Once you hit class B then you will almost never get smaller airplanes, but every now and then you could find one landing there.

I’d love to see some smaller planes than the ones you listed as well. Something like Cessnas, beechcrafts, DHC-6 Twin Otters even Small Jets for the small airports. Like GA aircraft used for early airlines at the smallest level

I extended it on the lower end a bit. Obviously only “airliner” but would be great to have GA with Cessna Citation or Phenoms etc, too.

you are right… somehow i missed it right in the middle. My bad

I think we should start out with C208’s and the Sabb 340’s The Sabb is like real good as a starting aircraft if you think of it. It can carry 34 passengers and has a good range.
After the Saab’s.

CRJ-100/200
ERJ-135/145’s
ERJ 170’s to E195’s
CRJ 700’s to CRJ 1000

Alot of you guys have skiped the next one I am about to say
Cseries
Sukhoi Superjet 100-95
Comac ARJ21
After those then you know your regular A320’s and Boeing.

Wow, I like your effort. Great starting point! We will post a poll shortly where you can decide the next aircraft. :airplane:

I think small planes would be super nice, and especially if there are some game mechanics to go along.

In career mode you could start with almost no money and have to take only small private planes in your small grass airfield. I am imagining a pilot keeping his plane there in some hangar or parking spot. Then he can come to the airfield and fly it for a while. Small planes like this require fuel but not much else.

You will get money from selling the fuel and refueling services, potentially some maintenance and also for the rental of the hangar or parking spot.

As you gain more money you can build a terminal and check-in desks and a baggage handling system and start taking on commercial flights.

And now that I think about this, the initial “airfield” version would be a perfect pre-alpha for the game. Much more limited scope without all the complicated queuing systems, baggage handling, check-in and so on. And at the same time it would allow testing the UI, contracts, general airplane routing, people movements, refueling operations, building system, etc.

What do you think @Fredrik?

How about helicopters? Don’t know any in specific (not a big helicopter fan) but it would be cool to have helicopter pads and other helicopter related things

Great Job. It looks you’re working on an airport
But really, good job THX

That would be something pretty special [personal reasons too!!]

I would like to see the Dornier 328jet and all the aircraft that alfa listed would be awesome.

Yes…even I had that idea… Helicopters should be an important aspect of the game. They may be your main source of income when u r a small airport.
