So is there anyway i can get in contact with the devs to add a some better ubuntu support? that would mean i would need a open source editable copy of airport ceo or the steam version to test but is there anyway i can get in contact with the devs to discuss this?

They will see the topic when they check forum (here), but saying @ dev name will give them a notification which helps. just give them a day or so and they should respond
Just don’t abuse it…
Unfortunately there is no business case for Linux support. The time we’d have to invest to get a playable, supportable build ready is not sufficient for the potential revenue it would create. I know there’s a few good solutions to run Steam games on Linux too, not natively but there are at least one solution that appears to be working. Not officially supported however, of course.
