Honestly, I’m not sure how to write this. However, I have been noticing that there seems to be a bit of miss with how service roads attached to medium stands (or I think all stands, not sure, but I’ve been playing with lots of medium stands lately, so…).
If the medium stand is built with the plane exit facing the upper/top part and the jetway attached to the bottom part, then service vehicles intending to service the stand and entering the stand from the left, have the tendency to actually drive a bit further until just before the jetway, then make a U-turn and enter the stands from the right.
Is this intentional? It’s a minor issue, yes, but every U-turn holds up the flow of vehicles, which can have a knock-on effect on the overall efficiency of the airport.
